We will be discussing the comments gathered from members at the workshop held during the July meeting (see below)

Comments Summary Staying in the current Library Building

Notes from previous meetings

Weds 19th July

The sole emphasis of this meeting will be to make a start on compiling a list of the pros and cons of all the options facing the future for Hay Library. Powys County Council have given our community until December 31st 2017 to come up with a fully costed business plan for any group that wishes to take responsibility for the running of the library building, otherwise it will move into the new school premises in February 2018.

This will require HOWLS to look closely at all the options on offer so what do you think?

Is our community best served by the Library:

  • Moving into the new school premises
  • Staying where it is and finding a way of making up the Powys funding shortfall
  • other? Are there any other options that we haven’t thought of yet

Come equipped on the night with your own ideas and we’ll add them to the list. However, if you cant make the meeting or simply prefer to add your opinion in writing then please contact the Secretary Melanie on info@savehaylibrary.org and we will ensure that it gets added to the list.

Dates for the Diary

We propose to have regular HOWLS Management Committee meetings on the 3rd Wednesday of every month as follows – All members are welcome to attend
